FEES

Fees include University Tuition fees, Summer/Winter School fees, Language Course fees and other possible fees.

THE SMACCS CONSORTIUM DOES NOT CHARGE APPLICATION FEES.

University Tuition Fees

The annual tuition fees are:

  • 4000€/year for students from Programme Countries (8000€ for two years)
  • 8000€/year for students from Third Countries not Associated to the Programme (16000€ for two years). See here for a list of eligible countries.

Several scholarships are available (see here for more information)

  • Erasmus Mundus scholarships. Scholarship holders benefit from a tuition fee waiver
  • SMACCs Consortium scholarships
  • Associated Partner scholarships
  • Erasmus+ scholarhsips for inter-semester mobility. For MSc scholarship students, all tuition and administration fees will be covered by the scholarship.

University tuition fees cover registration fees and insurance coverage – and include free access to libraries, labs, or the Internet inside the Consortium Universities (UMONS, UPV/EHU, UWASA, IHU) or Associates through which the study programme is completed. Students are expected to cover their travel and accommodation expenses during their study stay.

Language Course Fees

  • Students interested in taking a preparatory language course during their first or second academic year (at UMONS in French, at UPV/EHU in Spanish or Basque, at UWASA in Finnish and at IHU in Greek) can sign up for a multiple-week intensive course prior to the semester start or a regular course. Any fees incurred by this courses are payable to the individual universities and are not part of the tuition fee. Students are not required to take such a language course, but are being recommended for it.
  • The eventual language course fees are paid directly to the organizing institution upon signing up for the language course.

Summer School Fees

  • The SMACCs consortium will not charge registration fees to scholarship and non-scholarship holders for participating to the Summer School, as long as the programme benefits from EU financial support. The Summer School is the main programme-related event where all students and many staff members involved in the SMACCs Master’s programme meet together for a one-week period at a partner university in July. SMACCs students have to participate in at least one summer school, either at the end of the first academic year or the end of the second academic year in the SMACCs Master.
  • Accommodation and travel costs to attend the Summer School are borne by the students.

Winter School Fees

  • The SMACCs consortium will not charge registration fees to scholarship and non-scholarship holders for participating to the Winter School, as long as the programme benefits from EU financial support. SMACCs students have to participate in at least one Winter school, either in January of their first or second academic year in the SMACCs Master.
  • Accommodation and travel costs to attend the Winter School are borne by the students.

Other Fees

  • Students may also incur administrative expenses related to application documents, visas, residence permits, and graduation fees. Such expenses are not included in the university tuition fees. The issuance of the additional diplomas will be subject to the payment of the fees in force in the corresponding university.
  • While no university tuition fees are charged at associated partner universities, students may incur small administrative fees from some partner universities that may charge an additional fee for exam and/or thesis registration.
